Soft Tissue Surgery

We are able to provide a wide variety of soft tissue surgery procedures here at Landisville Animal Hospital. Spays and neuters are the most commonly performed surgeries. Spays and neuters are important for various reasons including population control and prevention of unwanted illness or cancers.

Orthopedic Surgery

We are now offering orthopedic procedure, including repairing common issues such as torn cruciates (or the ACL of the dog)

  • TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy)
  • Tightrope/lateral fabellar suture
  • Medial Patellar Luxation
  • Fracture repairs

In addition to treating certain illnesses, surgery can be useful to diagnose disease or cancer. We perform surgery Monday through Friday. All surgeries are monitored closely by our state-of-the-art monitoring equipment, as well as our qualified technical staff.

 

Anesthesia

When it is time for your pet to be spayed or neutered, or when it is time for your pets professional dental cleaning, your pet will go under anesthesia.

The doctors and staff of Landisville Animal Hospital are committed to providing the safest possible anesthesia for your pet.

Your pet’s anesthesia package includes:

  • An intravenous catheter for medications and fluids
  • Anesthesia drugs tailored to your pet’s individual needs
  • Intravenous fluids to help support your pet’s blood pressure
  • Anesthetic monitoring performed by a dedicated anesthesia nurse including:
    • Blood oxygen levels
    • Carbon dioxide levels
    • Blood pressure
    • Temperature
    • Heart rate
    • ECG monitoring (electrical activity of the heart)
  • Intubation (a tube in the trachea) to provide oxygen and anesthetic gases into the airway
  • Heat support to maintain body temperature
  • Comprehensive pain management before, during, and after the procedure
  • Monitoring during recovery
  • Antibiotic injection
  • Complimentary nail trim
  • A snack once your pet is awake enough to eat
